Articled Student, David Horvath has a demonstrated ability to deliver efficient and effective legal services. His clients know him for his compassionate handling of cases and his determination to see each case through to the very end.
David joins Acumen Law Corporation with a background in family law and public authority liability. Prior to joining the Acumen team, David worked in the areas of family and criminal law. He has experience petitioning to the BC Supreme Court, and has made regular appearances at the BC Provincial Court.
When handling family matters, David is someone who will put your rights, and the well-being of your children, first. David is committed helping clients obtain a fair resolution throughout the divorce and separation process.
Additionally, David’s experience in public authority liability is a tremendous asset in criminal matters, particularly in cases where negligence, malfeasance, or malicious prosecution on the part of a government body may be involved. David co-authored an academic paper on the topic of remedies in public authority liability cases.
During his time with Acumen Law Corporation, David has never lost a traffic ticket case. He has taken numerous driving cases to a successful conclusion and has defended the driving rights of many British Columbians.
David completed his Juris Doctor at Thompson Rivers University. While at TRU, David was editor of the peer-reviewed Canadian Journal of Comparative and Contemporary Law. Prior to law school, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in History and Classical Studies at the University of British Columbia.
David also speaks fluent Hungarian, and is qualified to perform Hungarian court interpreter services.
