Kyla Lee was recently interviewed on CBC’s Radio West about red light cameras.
“It’s not very reliable when it’s used this way,” she said.
“What they are going to be doing is putting radar units inside the cameras so that they can measure the speed of vehicles as they are proceeding through the intersection.
“The problem with that is in order for it to be reliable, it needs to have a consistent visual estimate at the same time.”
