Kyla Lee, Lawyer Acumen Law, said: “Bill C-46 is a bill that overhauls alcohol-impaired-driving laws in Canada.
“It was originally designed for the purposes of introducing a testing scheme and enforcement scheme for the purposes of marijuana-impaired driving with the impending legalization.
“But in doing so they also made significant and sweeping changes to the alcohol-impaired driving legislation that we have had in place, including removing the requirement that police officers have to have a reasonable suspicion that you have alcohol in your body before they ask you to blow into a roadside breathalyzer.”
