Kyla Lee on The Exchange with Matt Gurney

Kyla Lee on The Exchange with Matt Gurney

Kyla Lee, a lawyer at Acumen Law Corporation and founder of the Canadian Impaired Driving Lawyers Association joined Matt Gurney in an interview. She shared her insight on what will enforcement look like starting tonight on the roads.

I think starting tonight it won’t be that much but over the coming months, we will see the police getting trained to higher degrees in detecting cannabis impairment. There are about 12,000 officers that are trained right now in Canada to do certain aspects of that and 830 some officers trained to do drug recognition evaluation test. So we see some training happening but we are not anywhere near the number that we need to have to do enforcement and to create that public perception that your last guest is talking about about being caught if you are driving while impaired.
