Talking about cannabis, we have been in a legal framework for the better part of the year. In Alberta, They have only laid eight charges under the new laws, none at all in British Columbia. Ontario and Quebec though, there seems to be a bit of a different pattern there. Ontario lays about a hundred up to the end of June; Quebec around 39 and I find this interesting as well. This is not impairment we’ve seen in big cities. These charges are usually happening in rural areas.

In British Columbia, we have a standard where you have to have evidence in support of substantial likelihood of conviction. In Ontario and in Alberta, the police actually lay charges, so they gather the evidence and make the decision to charge.

In Ontario, it is a lot faster to get blood results back because they have a better system in place to analyze the blood and to get the result of the THC concentration. In Alberta, they are facing huge delays and in British Columbia, we also have big problem with delay.
