I think that this is exactly what we were concerned would happen when the government change the impaired driving laws in Canada, that police were going to use new powers they have to investigate sobriety in more extensive circumstances that don’t involve actual driving to harassing individuals who are black, indigenous people and people of colour.

This is not the first case that I heard of where somebody who is dealing with empties in their vehicle and suddenly accused of impaired driving. We also see a case of that in British Columbia shortly after the lowest past.
