“The penalty for dangerous driving is broad. It can be anything from as small as an absolute discharge all the way up to a jail sentence… There is always a mandatory one-year driving prohibition under the BC Motor Vehicle Act and there’s a discretionary prohibition under the criminal code which can be for as long as the judge wants.”
