Almost a dozen Canadians died every day from opioid overdoses last year. Since 2016, more than 8,000 have lost their lives, primarily to fentanyl.

“It is using government powers to stop the drug trafficking operations. As the person you interviewed who is the manufacturer of these drugs says this is cost-effective for the drug dealers, they are making a lot of money and they can make it cheap and they can get a lot of profit really quick. If you take all that away from the underground black market and you give it to the people for free, you can stop them from getting poisoned drugs.”
