Happy Good Friday, everyone! In honour of Easter, Acumen Law Corporation lawyers Kyla Lee and Paul Doroshenko will be testing hot cross buns to see if eating them can lead to a false reading on a breathalyzer. The result may surprise you.
In “Can You Fail It?” we put everyday household consumables to the test to ask, Can You Fail It? That is, can you give a false positive reading on a breathalyzer after consuming it. Since it’s the Easter holidays, we put hot cross buns to the test. Find out if you could get an IRP after eating too many of the Easter favourites.
Remember, we are testing whether these products will generate a false positive reading on an approved screening device (ASD). Some items may or may not register on an ASD when they are present in your mouth. They do not have to be absorbed by your body to show up on a breathalyzer.

Thanks Kyla and Paul for sharing this invaluable information. I have learned a lot from your site about DUI laws and how some ASD’s are not an effective method to press charges or issue an IRP.
