Change is (HER)e: introducing AcuWomen Law Corporation

The times they are a-changing, and you can either change with them or get left behind. Perhaps some of the most radical changes we have witnessed in recent years involve women’s rights.

We wanted to do something to honour that change. Something big. But it had to be something more than mere lip service. It had to make a statement.

That’s why, this April 1st, we are proud to announce we are rebranding as AcuWomen Law Corporation.

A few weeks ago, we filed articles of amendment with Industry Canada to change our name in day-to-day operations to AcuWomen officially. We have changed the signs at our Vancouver and Richmond offices to the image you see above, reflecting our new moniker. From now on, if you ever receive a letter or email from us, it will say AcuWomen. Please be careful to address any correspondence to us accordingly in future.

But we’re not stopping there. Kyla Lee has taken over total control of the firm, guiding us in a more feminist direction. For starters, all-male staff members will be required to reduce their lunches to 70% of their original size to recognize the gender pay gap. In the interests of fairness, all-female staff members will also be required to reduce their lunches to 70% of their original size. Basically, we will all be having smaller lunches.

Secondly, we are committing to encourage helping women. Any time one of us does anything that helps a woman in any way, from holding a door open to acquitting them of a crime, all AcuWomen employees are encouraged to stand up, announce what they did, and give themselves a big pat on the back.

Finally, all women in our office are no longer required to follow Covid-19 protocols. Masks are annoying, after all.

We will be blue-skying new ideas for things we can do to show how we help women in the coming weeks. In the meantime, if you have any ideas of what we can do, please email April.Fuels@acuwomenlaw.ca

Don’t know about the lunch size, but I absolutely could get behind the business plan. I only know Kyla Lee through this platform, and I most certainly believe that she is capable of what has been proposed. Her sense of humour definitely shows itself in this blog. Happy April Fools Day!!!
